Michael will enter the
2014 season in his own backyard following an off-season trade to the Texas Rangers. Recognized as one of the
top young hitting prospects in professional baseball, Michael made his Major League Debut during the 2013 season after being
recognized as a key contributor for the AAA Sacramento Rivercats. This followed an abbreviated 2012 season that saw
Michael establish himself among the top young hitters in the Texas League, hitting .287 with 10 homeruns and 58 RBI in just
91 games. Michael was named the Athletics' Minor League Player of the Year in 2011 after hitting .285 with 30 homeruns
and 82 RBI for Stockton. He followed the 2011 season with an appearance in the 2011 Arizona Fall League, where he was
selected to participate in the Rising Stars Showcase and was named to the AFL All Prospect Team.
